Capital Campaign meeting

Just had a wonderful meeting with Linda Shelk from the Shelk Foundation and Gordon Gillespie from the Bowman Museum.  The information we received was tremendous, the food was awesome, and we had a great time.  Gordon's story of renovating and building onto the Bowman Museum is inspiring and just makes me more excited about having a place in our community to read, meet, and simply enjoy in my spare moments.  I can see myself sitting enjoying an afternoon reading a book or magazine, or maybe surfing the internet.  Maybe enjoying a chat with a friend or neighbor, in a common area at our new library.  There are so very many possibilities, open meeting areas, comfortable areas to relax, a place for our kids to use computers.  Just so many possibilities for our entire community!  Can you imagine a library like this one maybe?

What do you imagine a new library looks like?  What do you think it would mean to have a new place to meet or maybe a new focus in our community?  Can you see a new library centrally located close to the bus hub in John Day?
